JOYCE — A local girl died Monday morning in a head-on collision after she apparently lost control of her car and slammed head-on into a logging truck on state Highway 112.
Jessica V. Iberlucea, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a student at Port Angeles High School.
The driver of the logging truck, Bradley M. Kirby, 40, of Port Angeles was transported to Olympic Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Troopers at the scene said speed and wet road conditions may have been factors in the crash. It was the second fatal crash in two days in which a motorist was apparently driving too fast for road conditions.
