Clallam County elections officials will count 87 ballots today in the Crescent School District’s bid for a four-year, $1.31 million maintenance and operations levy.
The first tally following the end of the all-mail election Tuesday showed 462, or 58.63 percent, of voters supporting the measure, and 326, or 41.37 percent, saying no.
State law requires 60 percent voter approval for the measure to pass.
County officials mailed 1,561 ballots to voters and had received 899 ballots by Thursday, the Auditor’s Office said. The levy will be certified March 19.
Levies help pay for library materials, textbooks, maintaining and repairing facilities and staff training.
