PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College President Tom Keegan has been selected the new president of Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon.
The Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees picked Keegan on Wednesday from a pool of 40 candidates.
He is expected to take the new post early next year.
“I am honored to be offered the opportunity to lead the college that set me on my educational and career paths,” Keegan said in a written statement.
Keegan earned his Associate in Arts degree from Skagit Valley College. He later earned a doctorate from the University of Washington.
He became president of Peninsula College 10 years ago.
Julie McCulloch, Peninsula College Board of Trustees chairwoman, in a written statement congratulated Keegan on the new job.
“Tom has done wonderful things for Peninsula College and our entire region,” she said.
“Thanks to his leadership, Peninsula College is a healthy institution that is well-positioned for a strong future.”
