PORT ANGELES — Five-year-old Micah Hay of Port Angeles pedals a stationary bike rigged to blend a fruit smoothie as Marley Reeder of the Olympic Peninsula Healthy Community Coalition looks on during Saturday’s Kiwanis Kids Fest at Vern Burton Community Center in Port Angeles.
The 31st annual event, sponsored by the Port Angeles Kiwanis Club, showcased a room full of activities and services geared toward children and their parents. Saturday’s festival coincided with Clallam County Community Safety Day with outside displays of public safety and public service vehicles, hosted by Clallam County Emergency Management.
