SEKIU — A meeting of the Lake Ozette Steering Committee is planned for the Sekiu Community Center, 42 Rice St., from 10:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The committee will discuss Lake Ozette sockeye salmon recovery updates and project implementation.
Agenda topics will include updates on activities since the September meeting, reports on recovery projects, public outreach and education strategies, landowner liability legislation (House Bill 1194) and future committee activities.
Over the past five years, the committee has helped develop the Lake Ozette Sockeye Salmon Recovery Plan and is providing input for its implementation.
The committee’s open membership includes landowners, interested citizens, timber companies and representatives from local, state, federal and tribal governments.
