Port Townsend city employee Rafe Thornton, in yellow slicker, and an unidentified man, survey a landslide from Washington Street that fell onto Water Street and closed access to the ferry terminal and other locations in downtown Port Townsend due to heavy rainfall Sunday afternoon. Jefferson County Emergency Management issued a warning at 1:55 p.m. that the street was closed and alternate routes were necessary. A city dumptruck hauled away a load of mud and debris that was blocking the street. Further cleanup was needed before the street could be opened.
