LAPUSH — Jennifer Roth made the drive from New Mexico to vacation on the West End for several years.
Now she has a reason to stay for good.
Roth, 45, is the new police chief for the Quileute tribe, filling a position that has been open since former Chief Rich Christiansen’s departure in early May.
Her first day on the job was Sept. 12.
“We’re pleased,” said Quileute Tribal Chairman Russell Woodruff.
“We don’t see her much. She just does her job, and that’s all we ask of her, to enforce the law as best she can on the reservation.”
