LAPUSH — The Quileute tribe will celebrate its heritage and culture with a three-day celebration this weekend.
The theme of the annual Quileute Days this year is “Honoring Our Families, Embracing the Spirit of Family Values.”
Quileute Days — or “Wik-Wal,” as the gathering is known in the Quileute language — is a celebration of the cultural history and the endurance of the Quileute people.
“Despite the constantly changing environment, the Quileute tribe has endured over the past few hundred years, we have proven vigilant in maintaining our way of life,” said Quileute Tribal Chairman Russell Woodruff.
“Quileute Days is a celebration of our strong family values, and our continual fruitful relationship with the land and sea.”
