LAPUSH — A police standoff with a possible suicidal subject resulted in a 15-hour standoff over the weekend, after which police resolved peacefully, a spokesperson said Monday.
At about 3 p.m. Saturday, LaPush Tribal Police received a call of a possible suicidal person, according to Quileute tribal spokeswoman Jackie Jacobs.
Police responded to the call and classified the incident as a “barricaded suicide situation” with a child inside the residence, Jacobs said.
Any time there is a barricaded suspect involving a child, the standard precaution is to call in outside agencies, she said.
Jacobs said the situation was resolved at 6:30 a.m. Sunday when three adults were taken into custody.
The child was released to relatives.
None of the adults taken into custody was identified.
