PORT ANGELES — Ballots in the Port Angeles School District technology levy election must be turned in by 8 p.m. or postmarked by today to be counted.
As of Monday, voters have returned 6,950 — or 37.83 percent — of the 18,369 ballots distributed in the all-mail election, said Clallam County Auditor Patty Rosand on Monday.
A simple majority passes the four-year, $6.5 million technology levy.
The Auditor’s Office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today to help any voters with problems or to issue replacement ballots.
Some work must be taken for the ballots to fit inside the special envelopes required.
Voters should fold ballots in half to fit them in the envelopes, which were erroneously cut slightly too small.
The perforated piece with a bar code at the top of the ballot should also be removed before turning it in.
