PORT TOWNSEND — She appeared again this year in Port Townsend — Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Tuesday night marked the second year that the Latino community of Port Townsend gathered to hold a procession down Water Street and up to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as La Virgen Morena, the virgin with skin color.
About 30 people met at 9 p.m. at La Isla Restaurant, 1145 Water St., with Mexican flags, images of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a statue on a platform that was carried on the shoulders of four men through the middle of the street with a police escort.
