Meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

Local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will meet in executive session to discuss pending litigation in State v. Winborn during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A grant application questionnaire for $125,000 to update the county’s community wildfire protection plan.

• A purchase order of $68,103 to renew Arctic Wolf managed network and system breach/security compromise detection and notification for one year.

• Review of the memorandum of agreement with the city of Port Angeles regarding site selection and design of a joint public safety facility.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, regarding the 2023-2028 transportation improvement plan.

• Approval of the final plat for the Island View RV Park.

• A response to proposed federal standardization of financial reporting standards for local governments.

• An agreement with the Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic for $35,000 to provide a substance use disorder professional to work with the county’s syringe service program through July 31, 2023.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing regarding third quarter 2022 budget appropriations when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners also will hear an update on COVID-19 and Monkey Pox from Dr. Allison Berry, pulic healht office for Jefferson and Clallam counties, at 9:45 a.m., continue deliberation on an ordinance on determining the legal status of lots and hear a legislative update.

Items on the consent agenda include authorization for Public Works to apply for state funding to construct the Port Hadlock wastewater project and an agreement with the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team for $11,940 to conduct environmental research, the program is funded from a grant from the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.
