PORT TOWNSEND — It’s mushroom time in our dark North Olympic Peninsula woods.
Learn what’s good to eat and what can really ruin your day at the Olympic Peninsula Mycological Society’s Mushroom Show in the Arts Building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 4907 Landes St., from noon to 4 p.m. today.
The show includes experts to identify mushrooms brought in by the curious (mushrooms need to be whole, including underground parts), books, field guides, mushroom growing kits and a display of local mushrooms that are edible, questionable and poisonous.
