PORT ANGELES — Tyler Leisten has graduated from the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Criminal Justice Training Center, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said.
Leisten was hired as a patrol deputy with the Sheriff’s Office in June 2024.
Originally from Bagdad, Fla., he graduated from Pensacola State College with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts with a focus on natural resource conservation in December 2023.
Leisten, who graduated from the law enforcement academy in December 2024, is in field training and is scheduled to complete his training in a couple of weeks, the Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.
“We are very fortunate to have Deputy Leisten join our agency with his excellent work ethic and positive attitude,” the press release said.
