PORT ANGELES — Mediator, trainer and humorist Laura O’Neal of Port Angeles will teach a seminar on active listening and communication at InSpired! Gifts, 124 W. First St., starting Tuesday.

There is no cost for the six-week class, although donations will be accepted.

Sessions, to go from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Tuesday through May 20, will explore how listening can deepen a connection with others and with oneself.

Participants will be encouraged to share their life experiences.

O’Neal, who also appears at community events as “The Advice Lady” and as a comedian, has worked in the field of mediation and business start-up training for more than two decades.

She has been a certified mediator for 11 years and served as executive director and lead trainer for the Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center for seven years.

She is the lead instructor for courses in basic mediation, advanced family mediation, communication skills and conflict resolution skills for the workplace.

To find out more about the listening seminar, phone O’Neal at 360-460-8688 or InSpired! at 360-504-2590.
