Literary magazine highlights to be read Thursday

PORT TOWNSEND — A free reading of highlights from Tidepools 2013, the new edition of Peninsula College’s art, literature, and music magazine, is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Northwind Arts Center, 2409 Jefferson St.

Winning poetry and prose writers will offer excerpts from the magazine.

This year’s Tidepools contributors include James Welden and Marilyn Pollock in the Adult Prose category; Viola Ware, James Welden and Kathy Anita Gonzales in Adult Poetry; Pamela Dick and Cherish Dahinden in Adult Fine Art;

Robyn Johnson and Angelina Reese in Adult Photography; Kaitlyn Walter in Peninsula College Student Fine Art; Sarah Lindquist, Marissa Wilson, and Aran Burke in Peninsula College Student Photography; Andrew Denielsen and Samantha Burtch in Peninsula College Student Writing;

Maizie Tucker, Gretchen Sotebeer, and Emily Glenn in Youth Writing; Emily Harrenstein and Corinne Pierson in Youth Art; and Kai Lavatai, Howly Slim, and the Twisted Roots band in the Music category.

Tidepools 2013 is sponsored by the college’s Associated Student Council and the Peninsula Daily News.
