COUNTRY AND CAJUN music bands are in great abundance this weekend around the Peninsula.
Next week is Thanksgiving, and many venues will be closed for the long weekend.
If they don’t appear in this listing, there’s a good chance their employees are out enjoying some turkey and taters.
Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, it’s Jerry’s country jam with guest singers Bill and Rudy singing classic rock from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. For those wondering, Larry Followell, an acoustic guitarist, won the October talent contest and received a gift certificate to Castaways.
■ Today at The Lazy Moon Craft Tavern, 130 S. Lincoln St., Keith Scott plays electric blues from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
On Friday, Dan Maguire plays his original folk/Americana songs at 7 p.m., with special guest Ken Lofstrom playing at 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Twisted Roots is up with roots, blues, Western swing, classic rock and bluegrass for your dancing pleasure from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
On Tuesdays, Doug Parent plays his acoustic Americana from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Wednesdays, Ches Ferguson & Friends perform classic rock with a few originals thrown in from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ Today at Bar N9NE, 229 W. First St., the open mic starts at 9 p.m.
On Friday, it’s DJ Robotix at 9 p.m.
■ On Friday at Barhop Brewing, 124 W. Railroad Ave., Pufnstuf plays a variety of music from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, there’s a jam session from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by the Serendipity Band with special guests the Tony Flagg Band with Ed & Gary from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ On Friday at The Metta Room, 132 E. Front St., Scott Sullivan plays alternative rock for a Hurricane Ridge access fundraiser starting at 6 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Eagles Club Aerie No. 483, 2843 E. Myrtle St., Jimmy Hoffman plays country rock from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Open to public.
■ On Friday at The Dam Bar, junction of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 112, Gordon Bowlby hosts a jam session from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Saturday at Coo Coo Nest, 1017 E. First St., it’s Sworn Blood and Decapitate the Disciples playing heavy metal beginning at 10 p.m.
■ On Tuesdays at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., Wally’s Boys play ballroom dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.

■ On Friday at the Sekiu Community Center, 11 Rice St., Rosalie and Dave Secord and Luck of the Draw play soft rock, bluegrass and variety at 11 a.m. for the community potluck lunch.

On Friday, Echoes of Pink Floyd, a tribute to Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” concert tour, captures all the senses from 10 p.m. to midnight.
On Saturday, it’s a country smorgasbord with Haywire playing country from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by Ted Vigil’s tribute to John Denver from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., rock out with the Country Rock Association.
On Friday in the Rainforest Bar, listen to the imported Cajun tunes of Keith Scott of Chicago from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On Saturday, Scott returns with more Cajun and blues notes from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

■ On Friday at the Ajax Cafe, 21 N. Water St., Trevor Hanson plays classical guitar from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
■ On Saturday at Zoog’s Caveman Cookin’, 141 Chimacum Road, it’s the Badd Dog Blues Society with Andy Badd Dog, Jeff Dale, Steve G., Hammerin’ Hank and Tom Svornich playing at 9 p.m. to celebrate the restaurant’s makeover and reopening after its visit from the Food Network’s “Restaurant Impossible.” $3 cover.

■ Today at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Taylor St., Port Townsend, the “Ring and Sing” featuring the Port Townsend Community Handbell Choir starts at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
The Wind Rose Chorale also will be singing everything from jazz standards to pop songs to show tunes.
Admission is a suggested $10 donation.
■ On Friday at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., the Olympic Peninsula Dance Club presents Robin Bessier and her new band, Sollatí, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The group consists of Bessier on vocals; Kurt Festinger on saxophone, clarinet and flute; George Radebaugh on piano; Ted Enderle on bass; and Kurt Bischoff on drums.
This is a smoke-free and fragrance-free dance event. Admission is $10. Janice Eklund will offer a cha cha instruction at 7 p.m., free with admission.
■ On Saturday, the Port Townsend Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St., brings Jim Nyby and the F Street Band to the stage for New Orleans-style blues, Cajun and zydeco dancing from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. $12 cover.
■ On Saturday at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road, Coyle, Pepper Proud with Yaima offer an indie-folk, world-fusion matinee of music for all ages starting at 3 p.m.
Admission is by donation.
