NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND — A lockdown in response to an active shooter threat on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island has been lifted, officials reported Thursday morning.
Reports of an active shooter threat at an on-base location at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island came in at about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Base security cleared the location and found no threats. Normal operations have resumed.
Base security, Oak Harbor Police and Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) responded. NCIS will continue its investigation of the incident.
