PORT ANGELES — The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe’s natural resources department plans stream restoration work in Deep Creek and Little River this week.
A red and white tandem-rotor heavy lift helicopter will place logs and rocks in Deep Creek and Little River, both west of Port Angeles, as part of engineered habitat structures designed to slow stream velocities and create habitat features favored by Pacific salmon.
Columbia Helicopter will work in Deep Creek on Monday and in Little River on Tuesday and Wednesday.
All of the work will take place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will be done on private property and state-owned land.
