PORT TOWNSEND — Dyan Cannon isn’t the only star to make a first visit to Port Townsend this weekend.
The state’s newest ferry, MV Chetzemoka, arrived in Port Townsend about 11 a.m. today to allow crew members to see how the new ferry would fit into the dock, said Daniel Collins, terminal attendant at the Port Townsend.
It pulled out at about 1:20 p.m. and headed back to Eagle Harbor, the state ferries’ dock on Bainbridge Island, Collins said.
The crew has been training on Puget Sound, Washington State Ferries has said, and will eventually train on the Port Townsend-Coupeville route that the Chetzemoka will serve.
The date of the first sailing has not been scheduled, but is expected to start service before Halloween.
