Making a splash in Port Angeles’ wet weather

PORT ANGELES — A vehicle towing a boat splashes through a puddle on Ediz Hook Road on Tuesday in Port Angeles.

Persistent rain soaked portions of the North Olympic Peninsula on Tuesday with unsettled conditions expected for much of the first week of 2020.

Elsewhere, sustained winds temporarily shut down traffic across the Hood Canal Bridge on Tuesday.

The span that runs on state Highway 104 between the Olympic and Kitsap peninsulas is subject to closure during high winds, and a wind advisory is in effect for the Puget Sound region until 4 a.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood watch is in effect until 4 p.m. today.
