PORT ANGELES — A 62-year-old Port Angeles man was killed at 5 a.m. Sunday when his motorcycle collided with a deer on U.S. Highway 101 a few miles west of Lake Crescent.
The driver was westbound on U.S. Highway 101 and was ejected from his motorcycle after hitting the deer at milepost 214 about halfway between Lake Crescent and the junction with state Highway 113, according to the State Patrol. He was declared dead at the scene.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. His identity was not released by the state patrol Sunday, pending notification of next of kin.
There were no other motorists involved in the accident.
