PORT ANGELES — A 20-year-old man was upgraded from critical to serious condition at Harborview Medical Center on Monday.
Justin Holland, 20, a Seattle-area resident, was hospitalized for injuries he received when he was hit in the eye by a mortar firework during a Fourth of July celebration east of Port Angeles.
Holland remained in Harborview’s intensive care unit in Seattle, a Harborview spokeswoman said Monday afternoon.
Holland was injured at 12:04 a.m. on Gales Street, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
He was taken to Olympic Medical Center by ambulance and was later airlifted to Harborview.
