CARLSBORG – A trio of youngsters scurried up to and away from Gary Smart’s shop door recently – for the second time in as many weeks.
Smart heard them, peeked out and thought they might be taking his business card off the rack near his Gary’s Boat Tops sign on U.S. Highway 101 just west of Sequim.
In the morning, he found evidence that “the kids, in their early 20s at the most,” had left him something.
“I opened the door and I had this huge wreath in my lap,” Smart, 53, said Thursday, remembering his surprise on Wednesday morning.
“I was real pleased.”
The peace-sign wreath Smart had made last December – and that went missing March 31 – had been returned, with a note.
