QUILCENE — A Coast Guard helicopter from Air Station Port Angeles lifted a 46-year-old man off a cliff near Quilcene late Sunday night.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was listed in stable condition early today.
Jefferson County Fire District No. 3 sent a rescue team, but once rescuers reached him, they decided the safest way to get him off the cliff was by helicopter.
The Coast Guard says the ground crew had to cut some trees to make a clearing before the rescue attempt could be made at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
