PORT ANGELES — Sheriff’s investigators continue to investigate a shooting tonight in which a man was wounded in the face.
The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Clallam County Undersheriff Ron Peregrin said at the scene of shooting in the 500 block of Alder Lane, south of U.S. Highway 101 in Morse Creek canyon east of Port Angeles.
The man, who was not identified by either law enforcement or hospital authorities, was apparently shot with a .22-caliber bullet about 7:30 p.m.
The nursing supervisor at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles said the man was undergoing tests late tonight.
He was described in stable condition.
It was unclear whether he would be flown to Seattle for further treatment.
The man, who lives at 513 Alder Lane, was shot once by another man, Peregrin said.
The home is at the end of a dark, forested road which winds south from Highway 101.
