PORT ANGELES — One man remained in Olympic Medical Center with a stab wound in the chest Wednesday while another has been arrested for investigation of first-degree assault after an argument Tuesday night on the Waterfront Trail immediately north of the Red Lion Hotel.
John Harold Hann, 44, was in satisfactory condition at OMC on Wednesday, hospital spokeswoman Bobby Beeman said.
Edward Paul Horner, 55, of Port Angeles remained in the Clallam County jail Wednesday on $30,000 bail after he was arrested Tuesday night.
Police said the two men had not known each other previously
Officers arrived at the section of Waterfront Trail between Hollywood Beach and the Red Lion Hotel at about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday after several hotel guests had called 9-1-1 emergency dispatchers, said Port Angeles Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith.
The callers reported an argument between two men on the trail and that one had said he had been stabbed, Smith said.
Police arrived to find Hann with a stab wound, and Horner holding a knife, Smith said. The officers approached Horner with guns drawn, Smith said, and Horner complied with officers’ directions.
