SEQUIM — Port Angeles High School graduate Alexander Marsh recently retired from the U.S. Navy.
Marsh enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school in 1996.
After completing submarine school in Groton, Conn., Marsh was assigned to Submarine Base Bangor where he served as an electronics technician on Ohio-class nuclear submarines.
He was commissioned as a limited duty officer in 2008 and moved to Submarine Forces Pacific Fleet at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.
In his last assignment, he was a presidential communications officer at the White House Communications Agency in Washington, D.C.
Marsh retired in September with the rank of lieutenant commander after a 26-year naval career.
He lives in Sequim with this wife and son and works on developing unmanned undersea systems in Keyport.
