Master Gardeners prep for fall plant sale on Saturday, Sunday

SEQUIM — Clallam County’s Master Gardeners will have flowering, fruiting and vegetable plants available at their fall plant sale this coming Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5-6.

The sale will be at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and a half-price sale of leftovers from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 6.

Attendees will find hundreds of plants grown from seed, divisions or cuttings by local Master Gardeners, including flowering perennials, succulents, sedges and ornamental grasses, groundcovers, heathers, berries, herbs and

Northwest native plants.

In addition, cool-season vegetable starts have been grown for the sale, including kale, cabbage, lettuce, chard and chives.

Plant sale co-chair Conni Lee will offer red shoes planted with succulents, an accent she has used in her own yard for years.

An information booth is staffed during the sale so that questions on how, where and when to plant can be answered.

Used garden books and tools also will be for sale.

Plant purchases support Master Gardener public education and demonstration garden projects in Clallam County.

For more information about the sale, phone the Clallam County Washington State University Extension office at 360-417-2279.
