Kirk Larson, Western Washington public affairs specialist for the Social Security Administration, will speak at the Wednesday meeting of the group.
The meeting will convene at 9 a.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church’s downstairs fellowship hall, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles. Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
The group’s usual reports and discussion related to ending homelessness will be condensed.
Larson will speak at 9:30 a.m. He said he will include ample time for questions and answers.
Shelter Providers meetings generally end by 10:30 a.m., but Larson has volunteered to stay longer.
“Everyone can benefit from a better understanding of Social Security,” said Larson, who has presented Social Security information to groups in Washington and California, in numerous published articles and on television and radio shows during his more than 19 years with the agency.
“We scheduled Kirk’s presentation especially for social service workers who help clients access benefits for which they qualify, but we are issuing a special invitation to the public to also attend,” said Martha Ireland, Shelter Providers coordinator.
