FORKS — The preliminary 2017 budget for the city of Forks has been filed with the city clerk and a series of budget meetings is scheduled to start Nov. 14.
Copies of the $7.16 million spending plan are available to the public through the city clerk’s office starting Nov. 14.
The city council has called for budget hearings to be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and Nov. 28 at Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
A public hearing on revenue sources for the 2017 budget, including consideration of possible increases in property tax revenues, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at City Hall.
The city council has also called for special meetings to be held at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and Nov. 28 at City Hall. The purpose of these meetings will be budget workshops.
The city council will meet Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall in order to establish the final budget.
Forks residents can present oral or written comments for or against any part of the budget at that meeting.
