EDITOR’S NOTE — The following story has been corrected to reflect (1) the correct address for My Choices’ Port Angeles office and (2) changes in Michelle Malkin’s appearance times.
PORT ANGELES — A nationally syndicated conservative columnist will speak in Port Angeles on Thursday evening.
Michelle Malkin, whose column appears in the Peninsula Daily News every Friday, will speak at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center (the high school’s auditorium) at 304 E. Park Ave.
Admission is free to the talk sponsored by My Choices Pregnancy Medical Resources of Port Angeles.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for general admission.
She will speak from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. she will sign copies of her latest book, Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks and Cronies, which will be available for sale.
A backstage pass is available for a $100 donation.
Passholders can meet Malkin, 43, and get a photo with her and a signed copy of Culture of Corruption, said Tyler Conkle, chairman of the nonprofit My Choices board.
The meet-and-greet will start before the talk at 6 p.m., Conkle said.
Passes can be obtained by phoning 360-452-3300 or visiting a My Choices clinic.
Clinic sites are at 824-A E. Eighth St. in Port Angeles and at 640 N. Sequim Ave. in Sequim.
All donations will go toward the regular expenses of My Choices, Conkle said, which provides help and services to people facing an unplanned pregnancy.
These include ultrasound exams, parenting services and life skills training, according to the group’s website.
Donations to nonprofit
The nonprofit, serving Port Angeles and Sequim since 1985, neither performs abortions nor provides abortion referrals, according to its website.
Conkle said his group contacted Malkin because she has supported similar pregnancy service centers.
Malkin will speak Friday night at the annual dinner of the Family Policy Institute of Washington in Bellevue, Conkle said.
Malkin has written four books and is a Fox News Channel commentator.
She lives with her husband and two children in Colorado Springs, Colo.
