Missing Sequim woman found dead

SEQUIM — A Sequim woman who went missing on Friday was found dead Tuesday near Slab Camp Park off Taylor Cutoff Road, southwest of Sequim.

Molly Buhler, 46, was found late on Tuesday night by a person who was in the area, Clallam County Undersheriff Ron Peregrin said.

“At this juncture we do not suspect foul play,” he said.

“At this point it appears to be a suicide attempt, but we wouldn’t want to comment further on that.”

He didn’t identify the person who found her.

Buhler, who left her Sequim home in a silver 2004 Honda CRV, had not been seen since Friday.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s department asked for the public’s help in trying to locate Buhler or her car.

Buhler was last seen by a neighbor in her garden at about 2 p.m. on Friday, said her husband, Craig Buhler.

She was gone when her husband returned home from work about 9 p.m.

The sheriff’s office had tracked a Saturday call originating from Molly Buhler’s cell phone about 14 miles south by southeast of Ediz Hook, which is a remote location between Deer Park and Obstruction Point.

“Basically those tracking devices are not extremely precise,” Peregrin said.
