PORT ANGELES – A local woman is under arrest for investigation of the attempted murder of her daughter after she and a 10-year-old child ingested potentially lethal doses of prescription medication early Tuesday morning.
Rhonda L. Marchi, 41, remains hospitalized at Olympic Medical Center, while her daughter has been moved to a Seattle-area hospital for additional medical treatment, said Port Angeles Police detective, Sgt. Eric Kovatch.
As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, the child, who was not identified because of her age, remained unconscious, said Kovatch.
Marchi is listed as being in guarded condition, said Lorraine Wall, director of nursing at OMC.
Marchi called 9-1-1 at 2:04 Tuesday morning and asked for help for her daughter and herself at their home on West 14th St., in Port Angeles, said Kovatch.
A note found at the residence – and other evidence that Kovatch declined to release details about now – suggested she had given her daughter the medication, according to a written statement from Port Angeles police.
