SEQUIM — A midmorning fire Monday of as-yet unknown origin destroyed a travel trailer located behind a home at 171 Olympian Way between Sequim and Port Angeles.
There were no injuries reported in the 8:30 a.m. blaze, said Patrick Young, spokesman for Sequim-based Clallam County Fire District No. 3.
A woman who lived in the trailer was not home at the time of the blaze.
The unidentified woman will stay with a relative in the family-owned house that is on the property, Young said.
The first fire crews to arrive found the trailer 90 percent consumed by flames.
A small, shed-like structure next to the trailer also was on fire when firefighters arrived.
The fires were extinguished in approximately 15 minutes by 12 firefighters on five pieces of fire-suppression apparatus.
An ambulance, a water-tank truck and three fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
It is not clear if the trailer was insured or the dollar amount of the loss, Young said.
Investigators will begin trying to determine a cause for the fire, Young said.
