Most tickets still available for Festival of Trees events

PORT ANGELES — Tickets still remain for most events of the annual Festival of Trees, scheduled to begin Friday, but only 30 remained last week for the gala dinner at which the trees are auctioned.

The Teddy Bear tea is sold out, said Bruce Skinner, director of the Olympic Medical Center Foundation, on Friday but tickets for other events, including the Senior Breakfast and Family Days, are available online at www.omhf.org.

Tickets also can be purchased by calling 360-417-7144 or by going to the OMC Foundation office at 1015 Georgiana St., in Port Angeles.

The centerpiece of the festival are the elaborately decorated Christmas trees and wreaths created by area designers, who will begin setting up their creations on Monday at the Vern Burton Community Center at 308 E. Fourth St., the venue for all the weekend’s events.

Each tree also comes with a multitude of premiums.

Trees will be auctioned at Friday’s gala dinner and then left on display during Family Days on Saturday and Sunday.

Now in its 29th year, the annual event is a three-day fundraiser for the foundation.

Here is the schedule:

• Friday — Festival of Trees Gala, presented by First Federal, at 5:30 p.m. The gala offers a buffet dinner, tree auction and silent auction. Tickets are $105 each.

The Teddy Bear Teas in the morning and early afternoon are sold out.

• Saturday — Senior Breakfast, presented by Laurel Place and Sinclair Place, at 8:30 a.m. This is a sit-down breakfast. Tickets are $12 and a limited number will be available at the door

Also on Saturday will be the first of two Family Days from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by The Lodge at Sherwood Village, The Fifth Avenue Retirement Center and Sherwood Assisted Living. It will offer public viewing of the decorated trees and wreaths, musical entertainers and children’s activity areas for $7 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free.

• Sunday — Family Days will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free.

For more information, call the foundation office at 360-417-7144.
