BRINNON — A Port Orchard woman was flown to a Seattle hospital after a motorcycle wreck Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 101.
At about 1:25 p.m., Christina M. Atwood, 48, was riding a red 2004 Harley Davidson X1883 motorcycle southbound on Highway 101 near Bee Mill Road when she failed to negotiate a right hand curve, according to a State Patrol report.
The motorcycle crossed the northbound lane and struck the guardrail, the report said.
State Patrol and the Brinnon Fire Department responded to the wreck.
Atwood was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was still in the emergency room being evaluated as of Sunday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said.
She was wearing a DOT-compliant helmet, according to the report.
Atwood will be cited for speed too fast for conditions, the report said.
