QUILCENE — A 43-year-old motorcyclist has been airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a two-vehicle wreck south of Quilcene.
James W. Anderson of Port Angeles was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on U.S. Highway 101 about four miles south of Quilcene at about 3:35 p.m. Saturday when he crossed the center line and struck a Dodge Ram driven by Keith Richards of Olympia, 49, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.
Harborview Medical Center did not respond to inquiries on Anderson’s condition Sunday.
Anderson was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the road. The Dodge stopped in the northbound ditch, and its driver was uninjured.
State Patrol said drugs or alcohol were involved in the wreck. The road was closed for about five hours and 35 minutes.
The wreck remained under investigation Sunday.
