PORT ANGELES — A motorcyclist was in a Seattle hospital today after being injured in a wreck on U.S. Highway 101 near the Elwha River bridge Saturday evening.
Keith William Beck, 48, of Port Angeles was reported in serious condition in Harborview Medical Center’s intensive care unit in Seattle, a Harborview spokeswoman said.
At 8:22 p.m. Beck was riding a 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 101 near Milepost 239 when the bike left the roadway to the right, according to a State Patrol report.
The motorcycle entered a ditch by the side of the road, and Beck was ejected from the motorcycle, the report said.
Beck was transported by ambulance to Olympic Medical Center, then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.
State Patrol said Beck was cited for investigation of driving under the influence.
