BRINNON — A motorcyclist was injured Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 101 after he was unable to negotiate a curve and left the roadway.
Howard D. Hobart, 78, was driving a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle south on Highway 101 approaching the McDonald Creek bridge when, according to the State Patrol, his high rate of speed in a curve caused him to go off the road to the right.
The wreck south of Brinnon at 2:09 p.m. sent the Anchorage, Alaska resident to Jefferson Healthcare with unspecified injuries, according to a news release.
Hobart will be cited for speeding.
The State Patrol did not suspect drugs or alcohol contributed to the wreck, and Hobart was wearing a helmet.
Hobart’s motorcycle was towed from the scene.
