Motorcyclist injured in Highway 104 wreck now recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle

PORT LUDLOW — A Puyallup motorcyclist injured in a weekend wreck on Highway 104 was recovering at a Seattle hospital Monday.

Marcus J. Ross, 21, was in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, a hospital spokeswoman said.

On Sunday, Ross was riding a white 2007 Honda CBR600 westbound on Highway 104, one mile east of Sandy Shore Road, according to a State Patrol report.

At about 3:30 p.m., Ross attempted to pass another vehicle, lost control and crossed the eastbound lanes.

He and the motorcycle came to rest on the eastbound shoulder.

Ross was taken by helicopter to Harborview.

The State Patrol said the cause of the wreck was unsafe passing.

Ross was wearing a helmet, but according to the report, he did not have a motorcycle license endorsement.

There was no indication drugs or alcohol contributed to the wreck, the State Patrol said.

He will be cited for second-degree negligent driving, the report said.
