PORTLAND, Ore. — Extras Only Casting Co. is summoning anyone who wants to be an extra, a stand-ins or a photo double of a lead actor in the filming of “Twilight” to an open call casting in Portland on Sunday.
The auditions will be at 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the company’s Portland office at 635 N.W. 16th Ave., said casting director Danny Stoltz in a written release.
The primary goal is to get some “real people” in the movie, “Twilight” unit publicist Peter Silberman said.
The director of the film, Catherine Hardwicke, “wants a lot of real people in the movie, so that is what the casting company is looking for.”
Filming will begin Feb. 25 in Portland of the movie based on the young adult vampire novel Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, which was set in Forks.
It tells the story of Bella Swan, who moves to Forks from Arizona, and promptly falls in love with the mysterious and pale Edward Cullen — whom she discovers is a vampire.
The movie stars Kristin Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward.
No other casting decisions have been formally announced.
The open casting call for extras for the movie, which won’t be filmed in Forks, is for anyone who wants to show up.
Sign up at www.extrasonly.com. before arriving.
Those who want to be stand-ins for the principal actors and actresses must apply at that Web site.
Meyer has posted some information about the casting call on her Web site at www.stepheniemeyer.com.
Filming will take about 50 days, Silberman said.
“It is a very big film to be shot in not enough days, but it always seems to work out,” he said.
