PORT TOWNSEND — It will be another week before Michael J. Pierce, charged in the double murder of Patrick and Janice Yarr, is arraigned in Jefferson County Superior Court.
Pierce appeared briefly in court Friday morning, via a Jefferson County jail video link from Port Hadlock, for a scheduled arraignment.
Superior Court Judge Craddock Verser issued a continuance, giving Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Scott Rosekrans and Public Defender Richard Davies until next Friday, April17 to prepare for an arraignment.
The 34-year-old Quilcene man has been charged with the March 18 deaths of the Yarrs and the burning of their home at 780 Boulton Farm Road in Quilcene.
In addition to the two murder charges and a charge of arson, Pierce also is charged with two counts of robbery, one count of burglary, two counts of theft of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of identity theft.
