‘Music Live with Lunch’ to serve Chopin program in Sequim on Tuesday

SEQUIM — Romantic piano melodies, like those heard 180 years ago in the salons of Paris, will fill the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church sanctuary this coming Tuesday in the midday Music Live with Lunch concert.

Gwendolyn Moore, the pianist known for “coffee concerts” at her home, Turtle Bluff of Port Townsend, will bring an all-Chopin program to St. Luke’s, 525 N. Fifth Ave., starting at noon.

Moore’s 30-minute performance will feature the “Ocean” Etude in C minor, the Nocturne in E minor, a Waltz in G-flat Major, a Mazurka in A minor and finally Chopin’s Fantaisie-Impromptu No. 4.

Then comes lunch, hot and served in the parish hall.

Tickets, including both the concert and the meal, are $10 at the door, and no reservations are needed.

Moore has played the piano for most of her 81 years.

While at the University of California at Los Angeles, she studied with the late teacher, composer and conductor Lukas Foss.

As a performer, “she is wonderfully talented, and has a delightful wit and a repartee she will be sharing before each piece. It feels like a tutorial from your favorite professor,” Music Live with Lunch spokeswoman Sammy Greenwood noted.

For details about Tuesday’s concert and lunch, phone St. Luke’s at 360-683-4862.
