Narcotics team reports drug sentences for four

PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team has announced the sentences of four people who pleaded guilty to selling illegal drugs in the Port Angeles area in 2011.

Darren J. Samples, 44, of Port Angeles was sentenced Monday to 55 months in state prison after he pleaded guilty to delivery of a methamphetamine, OPNET said in a statement.

Samples accepted a plea offer in exchange for the dismissal of four other felony charges, according to OPNET Detective Sgt. Jason X. Viada.

Todd J. Dodge, 40, formerly of Port Angeles, was sentenced May 3 to 45 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to delivery of heroin, Viada said.

Viada said OPNET investigated Dodge in part because of a criminal history that includes 19 previous convictions.

Sentences

Ashleigh L. McLennan, also known as Ashleigh Dodge, 27, formerly of Port Angeles, was sentenced May 9 to 20 months in state prison followed by 20 months of probation after she pleaded guilty to two counts of delivery of heroin, Viada said.

Ron C. Critchfield, 40, of Port Angeles was sentenced April 26 to serve two years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to two counts of delivery of heroin, Viada said.

“Even as these cases have made their way through our justice system, OPNET has continued to aggressively investigate several more related and unrelated controlled-substance delivery cases,” Viada said.

“Many more arrests are anticipated.”
