PORT ANGELES — A helping of Southern gospel music will be served up in this far Northwest corner as the Blackwood Legacy Quartet arrives at First Christian Church, 2606 S. Race St., this Tuesday night.

Admission is free to the 7 p.m. concert, in which the Nashville, Tenn.-based foursome will offer a mix of traditional songs — in the style of the Blackwood Brothers, one of the most famous names in gospel music history — along with a newer country gospel sound.

The Blackwood Legacy Quartet singers are bass Rick Price, originally a protege of the late Cecil Blackwood; Spokane native Luke Yates, the baritone; tenor Paul Secord; and the newest member, lead singer Hunter Sparkman, a Christian recording artist and musician from Nashville.

Performing since 2001, the Blackwood Legacy Quartet was signed to Mansion Records in 2010 and gives close to 250 concerts per year nationwide.
