Prayer Day
Today is the 63rd annual National Day of Prayer.
Activities on the North Olympic Peninsula are:
■ The 16th annual Kiwanis Community Prayer Breakfast will be held in the St. Anne Room of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. today.
The Rev. Ted Mattie of First Presbyterian Church will be the guest speaker.
Special music will be provided by Joyful Noise.
Tickets for the full breakfast, prepared and served by Knights of Columbus members, are $8 and can be purchased at the door.

■ The theme chosen by the 2014 National Day of Prayer Task Force is “One Voice, United in Prayer,” taken from Romans 15:6.
In Jefferson County, local gatherings today will focus on praying for government leaders.
People will gather at local churches to pray, and two public gathering will take place at the courthouse flag pole, 1820 Jefferson St. in Port Townsend, at noon and 7 p.m.

■ In Forks, a half-hour gathering in the Forks Transit Center will begin at 12:01 p.m. today. Everyone is welcome.
