PORT ANGELES — A new show titled “The Open Circle” will make its debut at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center this week, and the public is invited to the free opening reception with artist Marlana Stoddard Hayes on Friday.
Stoddard Hayes, an artist from Portland, Ore., will unveil oil paintings layered with transparent glazes plus an unusual medium: spore prints from the fungi growing under her trees.
She’ll be on hand to discuss her art, which she sees as a dialogue with nature, during the reception from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The fine arts center’s Webster House gallery is at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Stoddard Hayes’ exhibition will stay on display there through Feb. 3 in the fine arts center’s indoor space, which is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays.
Also, as always, the Webster Woods art park surrounding the center is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
