The Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics Clinic will open to indigent and uninsured clients from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today in its remodeled quarters at 909 Georgiana St., Port Angeles.
It will be staffed by Drs. William Collins, chairman of the clinic board, and Tom Locke, chief public health officer for Clallam and Jefferson counties, plus volunteer nurse Ginger Melville.
The new charity clinic replaces one sponsored by the Port Angeles Association of Religious Communities in the basement of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and run by Dr. Edward and Phyllis Hopfner. It operated from August 2001 until June 2.
