Port Angeles native Brad Elmer

New gunsmith hired in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles native Brad Elmer has joined Hi-Caliber Gunsmithing, 903 W. Eighth St., Suite A.

Elmer recently received an Associate of Occupational Studies in gunsmithing after completing a 14-month course at the Colorado School of Trades.

Elmer specializes in 1911 pistols, bolt-action rifles and Smith & Wesson revolvers, and is a certified armorer for the Armalite AR-15, Sig, Glock and custom 1911 pistols.

He received additional training in stockmaking and metal finishing.

Elmer is an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his time away from work fishing and hunting in the West End.

Hi-Caliber Gunsmithing offers repair and parts replacement, modifications, alterations, customizing, barrel replacement, stockmaking and refinishing, checkering, total custom gun fabrication, metal refinishing and other work as needed.

Free advice on potential projects also is available.

“Ask us, we will probably be able to do it,” said owner John W. Treakle.
